Panic porn based on a prof's feelings

RE: It may be possible to get Omicron twice.  Variant may not provide immunity.  A CP story by Allison Jones, published in the Hamilton Spectator 5 Feb 22.

The pathetic effort to discredit natural immunity and push the gotta-vaccinate narrative continues.  The story runs, “As many as four million Ontarians may have been infected with the Omicron variant…but their illnesses – particularly the milder ones – may not stop them from being re-infected.  “It’s too early to know for certain, but it doesn’t seem like Omicron provides durable immunity against COVID-19,” said epidemiologist and University of Ottawa associate professor Raywat Deonandan.

It feels like?  Is it too much for a journalist to ask a scientist and professor for his data?  Doesn’t data matter anymore, or is even science reduced to feelings?  Don’t hard facts matter to a journalist, or is Allison Jones a stenographer?

Here are some facts.  Studies in Israel and elsewhere show that recovered cases have on average better resistance and more than seven times durable resistance to reinfection than double vaxxed and boosted people.  In U.S. Senate hearings last week, Bill Cassidy (R-La) asked the CDC director under oath why the CDC hadn’t done studies on natural immunity itself.  The director responded with her usual babble and then collapsed into silence when Cassidy accused the agency of not doing it deliberately so that it wouldn’t know.

Talk about misinformation!  The CP story has no information! Yet, it still offers a scare-mongering headline based on some bloke’s feelings!  Somebody who evidently doesn’t know the science!
