They ought to be horsewhipped

The medical experts that run Ontario and their docile servant, Premier Doug Ford, are so anti-empirical, so ignorant of the science and data,  and so incapable of critical thinking that they ought to be horsewhipped.  Keeping kids out of school and instituting another lockdown is anti-empirical madness.

They said that if everybody got vaccinated, it would induce herd immunity and Ontario would be free of COVID.  They introduced vaccine passports to coerce the reluctant, but the passport mandate did nothing to stop the new wave.  They falsely accused the unvaccinated of being ipso facto contagious with COVID, and because of that, dangerous to people who were allegedly protected against COVID by vaccination!  They created a kulak class for other people to hate with gusto.  How long will it be before the unboosted are deemed to be kulaks?

After achieving 90 percent vaccination rate, it was observed that vaccinated people were suffering breakthrough infections.  There were more vaccinated people in hospital than unvaccinated.  We were mollified that vaccination reduced the severity of the infection.  Then, booster shots needed to be taken because vaccine protection was utterly failing.

Now we find that even boosted people get infected.

Lockdown-lite was introduced in mid-December to stem the rising tide.  Now they’re reverting to a fuller lockdown after three previous pandemic waves proved that lockdowns didn’t change the course of the pandemic at all.  That’s the science, and Ontario’s own data verifies it.  You can’t tell from the cases curve when or what measures were taken to ostensibly “flatten the curve.”  Yet these pathetic failures are held up as successes on the strength of the authority of the experts who called for them in the first place.

Too many people now know about N95 masks that mask mandates raise embarrassing questions about the efficacy of previously mandated masks.

Kids are safer at school because the home is where most transmission takes place, and transmission occurs from adult to child, not child to adult or child to child.  Children are at less risk from COVID than they are from seasonal influenza.  That’s the science.

Now, in anticipation of hospitals getting crowded, lockdowns which seem to promote transmission and certain don’t prevent the spread, are being re-instituted!  And Ford’s experts are worsening health care generally by postposing other procedures, again!  It’s to protect the healthcare system, not you, peasant!

Meanwhile, therapeutics have been completely neglected by Ford’s experts.  Monoclonal antibodies?  Experimental.  Merck’s Molnupiravir? Too expensive.  Pfizer’s Paxlovid?  Experimental.  Ivermectin?  That’s a horse de-wormer, isn’t it?  Early treatment saving lives?  Sick people should stay home and not go to the hospital unless they’re really far advanced!  Early treatment be damned! We don’t have them anyway!  All we can do is hold your hand and give you oxygen if you need it!

In an announcement today. Premier Ford said that everyone is going to get the Omicron variant.  Well, if everyone’s going to get it, then why lockdown?  It’s the healthcare system that needs to be protected, not you, peasant!  “We must do everything in our power to protect our hospitals!” exclaims a grave Premier Ford.  The forecast of hundreds of thousands of cases every single day sounds just like the scaremongering of the first wave in March, 2020, aka “Fifteen days to flatten the curve.”  We have to reduce contacts and mobility, never mind that that strategy has failed the three previous occasions!  We’re going to blunt the wave so that we can ease the pressure on our hospitals, and never mind that it hasn’t worked before!”

There is a complete collapse of critical thinking in Queen’s Park.  They’re too stupid to look at success stories like Florida.  The math modellers don’t know the difference between exponential and geometric rates of increase.  And there seems to be no one to replace these idiots.  They’re making Ontario not worth living in, after two years.  You can’t live like normal people in Ontario.
