Riding on

Vincent J. Curtis

16 Jan 23

RE: April exit for county medical officer of health.  News item J.P. Antonacci.  The Hamilton Spectator 16 Jan 23.

Dr. Matt Strauss can ride off into the sunset having accomplished everything he set out to do: bring common sense and tradition medical ethics to pandemic policy.  To the dismay, consternation, and resentment of his critics in the media, Dr. Strauss proved to be absolutely right about how wrong the lockdown policy was, that vaccine mandates were unethical and vicious, as was the vaccine passport policy used to enforce that viciousness.

It’s not that Dr. Strauss’ beliefs were unique to him; his opinions were shared by the best epidemiologists in the world whose opinions, in turn, were suppressed when they weren’t derided by Big Tech and the MSM, who chose suppression over debate, and the government over freedom.  (The last words on that have yet to be written.)

I do believe Dr. Strauss’ opinions on public health have had a ripple effect in Ontario since the Queen’s Park poohbahs, the Chief Medical Officers and laughably named “science” table, couldn’t hide his successes which indicted their failures.  Panic is not a policy, and oppression is not an option.

We should all wish him well in his future endeavors.
