Fake weather report

RE: Expect more warm winters, extreme weather expert says.  CP story by Tyler Griffin.  The Hamilton Spectator 7 Jan 23.

Thanks to Facebook, known corporately as Meta, and shameless bribe-takers at the Canadian Press, the public gets blessed with completely fake weather reports that insinuate climate change is responsible for the altogether expected weather of Southern Ontario this season.  The writer of the story, Tyler Griffin, is on a “news fellowship,” for CP, paid for by Meta.  Previously, Mr. Tyler would be known as an intern or as a cub reporter.

In the story, Blair Feltmate is baptized with the totally fake expertise of an “extreme weather expert.”  Felmate is head of something called the “Intact Centre for Climate Adaption” which is associated with the University of Waterloo.  Intact is the name of a large insurance company in Canada.  But as an expert in “extreme weather” it means Feltmate must be lacking expertise in ordinary weather or weather generally, and so it is hard to know when his expertise kicks in.  But never mind.

Feltmate issues caveats that completely undermine the narrative of climate change.  “Not every extreme weather event can be directly linked to climate change,” he says.  “What we’re going to see is changes is the frequency of extreme expressions of extreme temperatures – hot or cold.” (The redundancy of “extreme expression of extreme temperatures creates logical problems in what he is saying, but never mind.  Ambiguity is vital to insinuating the climate change narrative.)

“The No. 1 expression of climate change in Canada is flooding, particularly residential basements.”  Apparently building homes on known flood plains has nothing to do with it.

(Note: the Grand River flood of 1974, which inundated southern Cambridge, ON, has yet to be repeated.  The flooding of home in the Red Hill Valley after construction of the RHVP was determined to be inadequate hydraulic engineering of the expected water flows.  But never mind.)

What used to be called “the January thaw,” made outdoors hockey impossible, and the phenomenon led Conn Smythe to build Maple Leaf Gardens in 1930.  The commonly experienced thaw is now described as “an extended winter break” and “warmer than normal temperatures after seeing a front-loaded winter in December.”  Apparently, getting a white Christmas is due to the ‘front-loading’ of winter.

The enlightenment continues with another expert, Doug Gillham, of The Weather Network; “We’re used to January thaws, but this January has become more than just a thaw.”  And then, “colder than normal winter temperatures are expected to return by in late January or early February.”  Right on schedule, if you’ve lived in Southern Ontario for forty of sixty years.

To summarize, the trends Southern Ontario has experienced for about a hundred years will continue, except that the extremes will get more extreme, and this is due to climate change.  Logically, this is all backwards; climate is a characterization of typical weather; and it is changes in characteristic weather that amount to changes in climate.  But changes characteristic weather have to be over a long time for them to be changes in characteristics, and one year, or even a decade, of oddball weather does not amount to a change of climate.

There is also the problem that satellite temperature data simply does not support the theory of global warming, certainly not to any significant degree.  And to get really nerdy, a rising amount of energy in the atmosphere globally, reflected as high global temperatures, would tend to produce more uniformity, not greater extremes, especially of cold.

The narrative of climate change is insinuated through every reputational saving caveat, and the complete absence of evidence.  The current characteristic weather patterns are the evidence of no change, and all that’s offered are opinions on the future by alleged experts.

CP and the MSM fool no one who understands logic or who has lived on earth for a good length of time; and Zuckerberg, who funded this story, has a record of pushing fake narratives.

Facebook ruthlessly censored and banned the lab origin theory of where COVID-19 came from.  Now, it is the accepted theory.  Why Zuckerberg would put his thumb on that scale is not clear, but he did; and narrative pushing has become the habit of all social media outlets, with the exception now of Twitter under the management of Elon Musk.
