Hillary’s Unending Corruption: the Latest

Vincent J. Curtis

4 Oct 2016

Let’s start with a little news.  A little scandal.  This morning Fox News reported the following:

“Hillary Clinton had glowing words for the General Motors plant in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, when she traveled there in 2011 as secretary of state to announce the joint venture -- of GM and an Uzbekistan state-owned firm -- as a finalist for a State Department award.

“It is a collaboration between Uzbek and American companies, and it will serve as a symbol of our friendship and cooperation,” Clinton said, touting the plant’s “newest, most advanced technology.”

The visit came a year after the General Motors Foundation had contributed $684,455 in vehicles to the Clinton Foundation.

Fast-forward several years, and GM-Uzbekistan is now embroiled in a massive scandal, reportedly facing charges of fraud, money laundering, and embezzlement, a legal case that has reached high-ranking government officials in the country.

Clinton isn’t tied to any of the allegations. (Of course not!) But it’s another example of how Clinton Foundation donations and subsequent State Department actions have put the Democratic presidential nominee in an awkward position. The 2011 praise wasn’t a one-off, either. Clinton’s State Department again made GM Uzbekistan a finalist for the Award for Corporate Excellence in 2012.”

A little prestige is worth $684 grand in free vehicles, isn’t it?  Especially if the prestige can ward off a criminal bribery investigation!  Like most things Clinton, appearances can be deceiving.

The General Motors Foundation is not the same as General Motors Corporation, and the Clinton Foundation is not the same as Hillary and Bill Clinton.  And GM-Uzbekistan is run by Uzbeks, not Americans.  Just so we are clear on that.

News that is not here yet, but soon will be, is the potential recommendation for indictment for felony perjury by Judge Emmitt Sullivan in the Judicial Watch case.  The Judge ordered Hillary to surrender all her emails to the State Department, and to certify “under oath under penalty of perjury” that she had done so.  Well, she hadn’t done so, and every couple of weeks more State Department business emails are vetted and released.  The FBI recovered some 15,000 emails from Hillary’s ruined server that were State Department related after she certified.  The State Department has been ordered to release three tranches of emails before Election Day.

Let’s end this with a bit of Obama corruption.  Obama’s corruption is the undermining of the rule of law and of the constitution, in order that he achieve his political objectives.  It is not about money for himself.  Obama’s corruption is very Marxist in style, and for that reason even more insidious than financial corruption.

Not here yet are the final, catastrophic consequences of Obamacare.  Just before the election, the public is going to be notified of their health care premiums for 2017, and in some cases the increase with be greater than 60 %.  Many states have been reduced to a single carrier of insurance as the major health care insurers pull out of the market due to unsustainable losses.  The subsidies that the Obama Administration had been unlawfully funnelling to the insurers has been cut off, and the final collapse of Obamacare will occur in either 2017 or 2018.  The Republicans were right about Obamacare, and the next president will have to work quickly with Congress to repeal and replace it.  Hillary is not that person.

The next president is going to inherit a catastrophe in the health care sector, a collapsing economy because the Fed is finally going to start raising interest rates, and foreign policy disasters in Syria, Libya, and the Baltics.  Hillary will be embroiled in fighting her perjury scandals, and will have absolutely no traction with a Republican Congress.  A Hillary presidency will be a failure from the start because she will have been elected without a mandate.  It will be gridlock from horizon to horizon.

Trump has a clear program with well-known objectives, and he has not built-up a large reservoir of hatred in the Congress as Hillary has.  Trump represents movement away from the present morass.

We'll see in just over a month whether the American electorate make their decisions on basis of their brains or their glands.
