RE: Recharging our vision of electric vehicles. Spectator editorial 4 Aug 22
Worship of the climate god Baal carries the public madness into greater depths of insanity. All those Marxists want to subsidize the big auto makers? Send billions of tax dollars to Elon Musk? We want to turn our future over to Communist China, and #Joechina is going to do it by subsidizing the purchase of Electric Vehicles to the tune of $12.500 per!
Some quick math. At $4.50 per gallon, that subsidy will buy enough gasoline to run the gas powered equivalent for over 110,000 miles – 176,000 km. You’re ready for a trade-in before the fully charged EV gets driven out of the showroom.
The batteries and all the strategic materials that go into them are made in or controlled by Communist China. Where is the electrical power generation going to come from to recharge the batteries, assuming it’s all “green?” From China, the country that makes the windmill components and solar panels, and the country that’s going to invade Taiwan, the world’s largest computer chip maker.
Is Ontario smart enough to build CANDU II nuclear reactors? I doubt it. Awfully costly, and guess who you’d have to borrow the money from to pay for all these upgrades needed for the electrical grid!
The smart play is to save money - stick
with cast iron and fossil fuel – the stuff we make here. The climate
lemmings are indistinguishable from agents from the CCP.
